My family runs a restaurant chain under the name of Manu Bites in India. The business has witnessed significant growth over 15 years, it was initially started as a local venture by my grandfather but over the years has spread across the country, in which my father has played the key role with different family members holding the key positions in most of the branches. The business classifies as a family business as my grandfather is in the position of CEO, my father the COO, and the other essential positions are as well held by the people of my extended family.
Though my father has successfully contributed to the growth of the business, he lacks technical and digital skills which keep our business behind. The country has dense competition in the food industry and thus the new strategies, technical improvements, and tie-ups are important. Thus the hold on power contradicts the need for further improvements and need for growth. However, the personal factor contributes to decision making and each taken step towards change is well calculated. Me being part of the business plan to consider the issues and improve our weaknesses along with that I look forward to separating power from operations in the working of the business.
