The following discussion is based on my family business, even tho I am not involved in it yet. I am not personally involved in the family business yet, and therfore am not provided with all the knowledge of thus. The agency theory would probably eliminate most of the advantages of maintaining a family business. At least at beginning, one of the most crucial factors to consider is reliability. The high level of trust, is the most crucial part of the family business. Especially among steakholders.
