How and why did you choose that specific advisory role: (i) counselling & mediating, (ii) facilitating & consulting, (iii) mentoring & coach
In regard to my family business , I believe that counselling and mediating could be done by the elderly in the family business who have great knowledge about the business already and can decide what would be best for the company. In order to increase the momentum for the employees of the company who else could do it better than someone who already made his way up.
For my family business i would choose facilitating and consulting because in order to help the business grow and to see out of the the box they would need someone from out of the box in order to see where are things going wrong and what are the options for the business to deal with problems from a different prospective, what different opportunities are there for the business to explore and I believe there is no harm in looking at your business from someone else perspective , it might bring you insights that the person inside the company couldn't see . Some other benefits would be

Whilst business directors and owners know their market like the back of their hand, internal teams can be too close to a particular issue in order to see the bigger picture. Similarly, you may already have a solution in mind but would value an outside opinion to validate your plans. This is often the case when a large-scale business decision is pending.
