The 3 Circle model presents a framework for understanding family businesses by examining the interconnected dynamics of family, business and ownership. This holistic approach assists in decision making by highlighting areas of agreement or disagreement among these aspects promoting communication and fostering mutual understanding among family members, executives and shareholders. Moreover the model offers guidance for succession planning aiding in the identification of potential successors and the formulation of transition strategies. However it's important to acknowledge its limitations, such as oversimplification of realities potential boundary overlaps, limited consideration of external influences and variations, in cultural applicability. Despite these shortcomings the 3 Circle model remains a tool when tailored thoughtfully to suit the specific circumstances and requirements of each family enterprise.
