Sometimes in a family business, Holiday seasons are respected due to the family beliefs and culture. For example, a family may work all year excluding Christmas time where they have to take time off to celebrate the Christmas season. In a family structure where women are not obligated to do the heavy lifting because it is seen a man’s job in their culture. Because of the culture and beliefs of the traditional family, the traditional roles still play out in their family business; the women are kept in the managerial/supervision roles and the men are made to do the heavy lifting for the family business. In some cases of the family business, they believe that their cultural gender role plays a significant factor in the success of the business.
There is also the issue of female invisibility when it comes to contribution to the family business:
