I would choose the second type of advisory as it the most suitable for the personality type of the partners. I know the partners very well and they are not the kind of people who like to be told what to do. Mentoring or coaching or counselling just cannot be sold to proud egoistic individuals. All they look for is the solution and results. The ability of a facilitator consultant to deliver of customised solutions for very specific problems in my opinion is the best kind of advisory role that is required.
The operations that would need the advisory the most are legal and operations. Project management I think would be a great addition to the advisory team as the existing team is composed of people who are experienced but not trained with the latest methods.
